Why Waste Insomnia?

04.04am in the morning ... one of those nights or you could say mornings where I didn't get to bed after midnight the last time I looked at the clock it was 01.17am and here I am less than 3 hours later WIDE awake with a pot of spiced tea made, ipad streaming reruns on ITV player and my laptop fired up to begin the day. No doubt I will feel a tad jaded later, but right now I may as well make the most of my sleepless moment.

I could have stayed in bed nice and warm tossing and turning my head running creative moments over and over driving me almost insane, I have a pad by my bed to take notes whenever I have nights like this, it helps to get the stuff down on paper and helps me understand what's on my mind. The more notes I make and read through over the last year, the more I have come to realise that I am not kept awake through negative thinking or things outside my control, it is more the 'CAN' do stuff and let's get on with it thinking. To remedy this I just get up, take action and utilise the time getting stuff done, which helps me get my sleep pattern back to normal quickly. I have had clients who are long term suffers of insomnia come to me for hypnotherapy to help them relax their minds it is incredibly effective, with hugely positive results.

This morning I am not in need of hypnotherapy, the things on my mind are being actioned head on. I have a report to complete for my new website due to go live in the next few weeks, as guest speaker at Bradcamp.biz I have my content to finalise, if you want to book on one of these half day business power sessions then do use my special gift code DH97 it will give you access to a cheeky £50 off the normal ticket price as my guest. I have several calls to make and two client consultations, then hopefully if the snow filled roads are safe and drive-able I will be taking my youngest for a trip to the dentist to have some teeth out ready for her braces being fitted next month. Then a trip to the gym as my 2 day fasting began last night at 7pm last night. I am not superwoman I'm just an ordinary Mom doing EXTRA ordinary things to create a life I love.

If you are suffering from occasional sleepless nights take action and use the time you cant sleep wisely, its inaction that leads to over-thinking and under-doing and it becomes a vicious circle. I find if I take action and don't dwell too much on why I am awake my normal sleep pattern will resolve itself. For those of you whose sleepless nights are more frequent and affecting your everyday life TAKE ACTION, talk to someone a 'problem shared is a problem halved and sometimes solved' and there are other steps you can take for insomnia including hypnotherapy. Wishing you a productive day ahead and a good sleep tonight.

What's on your mind and keeps you up at night? I would love you to share with me on this blog
